2016 Indiana Watershed Leadership Academy Sponsorship Awarded

December 22, 2015

After careful consideration by our review committee, the Basin Commission is pleased to announce Randolph A. Sexton, PS, CFM, has been awarded sponsorship to attend the 2016 Indiana Watershed Leadership Academy. Randy is the Noble County Surveyor. Prior to becoming the Noble County Surveyor he established Sexton and Associates, a consulting firm specializing in surveying, engineering and land planning with two offices in Northeast Indiana. He has been a Professional Surveyor since 1984 having obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University. Randy previously served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors (ISPLS) for 8 years and is a past president of the organization. He is also a Certified Floodplain Manager. His professional activities include being a member on the national Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), the Indiana Association of Floodplain and Stormwater Management, Inc. (INAFSM), the County Surveyors Association of Surveyors, along with serving on the Board of Directors for the Maumee River Basin Commission and the Filter Strip Committee of the St. Joseph River Basin Commission. Randy contributes his interests in water resources and his genuine love for the outdoors to his childhood growing up on a lake in Noble County. In fact, he has been able to turn a large portion of his family farm, within the St. Joseph River Watershed, back to nature through the Conservation Reserve Program. Randy and his wife see this as an excellent opportunity to give back to the environment and community.

Randy is confident that the education he receives through the Academy will further assist him in improving drainage and water quality management in our watershed. The Basin Commission is excited to be sponsoring a professional in our watershed to attend the Academy and the Commission hopes to continue sponsoring individuals to attend this program in years to come.
